VECTOR SOLUTIONS - 3D MEDIA DEVELOPER ROLE
I had the pleasure of working as a 3D media developer at Vector Solutions for two and a half years--from early April 2022 to late August 2024. Part of the remote 3D team based in Camas, Washington, my role in the corporation involved developing instructional courses through multimedia videos, animating with 3ds Max, V-Ray, and After Effects.
Collaborating remotely with teams of artists, writers, and subject matter experts, I created and modernized courses in compliance with industrial regulations and safety standards in a range of fields. These courses varied widely in breadth and depth, and were sold to organizations ranging from private construction and transportation firms to public-sector entities such as fire departments.
Though unable to showcase courses publicly, my 3D work was praised for legible composition, balanced lighting, clear focus, material definition, cinematic depth of field, and realistic movement--areas essential for conveying information in our video media.
For the 2D half of these videos, I focused on clear and cohesive typography, clean and simple icons, engaging but minimal movement, pleasing color and contrast harmony, and overall modern design simplicity, while adhering to Vector's ever-evolving branding style guide.
Stock media often supplemented the courses to speed up workflow and add variation. I licensed media from Adobe Stock for most icons and photography, as well as Getty Images and Storyblocks for videography. I edited icons in Adobe Illustrator to maintain consistency, and occasionally adjusted stock photos with Photoshop's AI tools.

Still from a quick test animation prior to starting the role. I was given only an untextured compressed gas cylinder model and a narration file. The rest of the scenes used modified Mixamo animations and Sketchfab assets.
